Job 29:13-14 - “I made the widow’s heart sing, I put on righteousness as my
clothing . . .”(NIV)
Isaiah 61:1 - “. . . to proclaim freedom to the captives” (NIV)
Purpose: To proclaim through skits and activities freedom from darkness! Provide fun opportunities so that Christ’s love is made known both to the widows at the Widows Ministry Center and to others outside the Center. As we learn to laugh and have fun, we give ourselves permission to heal and promote healing in others.
- Coordinate Quarterly Teas – Serves as an effective outreach program involving not only the campus, but also the surrounding community.
- Encourage social interaction and fellowship through group activities such as planned nature walks, train trips, concerts, etc.
- Develop short skits the women can do in programs to add fun to events.
- Encourage outreaches like “wheelin’ the widows” (use buses or vans to pick up local widows that are shut-ins for church and other events.)
