Will the apartments be furnished?
We want the Center to become your home and for your apartment to feel warm and homelike. For it to feel like home, we think you need to furnish the apartment with your furniture, nick knacks, pictures, lamps, etc. Those pieces of your life will help you feel more comfortable in your new home.

Who is eligible to live at the Center?
Christian widows of ministers and laypersons are eligible. Prospective residents must be able to live independently in their own apartment.

Is the Center an assisted living facility?
No, the Center is primarily designed as a independent living retirement center for widows who are still able to care for themselves and can perform activities of daily living.

What about meals?
The Center has a beautiful appointed dining room that will serve one nutritious meal per day. This mealtime will be the social event of the day. For breakfast and lunch, residents may prepare light meals in their room, or visit one of the local eating establishments.

Are there planned events and activities?
Spiritual, social, cultural, and recreational activities offer opportunities for worship, fellowship, and fun. Residents may participate in these activities and are encouraged to organize other types of activities that interest them.

Parkway Church of God is on campus and serves as home church to the residents. There are other churches in the area also.

As a resident, will I be able to volunteer at the Children's Home?
Certainly! The Smoky Mountain Children's Home is committed to making a difference in the lives of America's needy children and they would be delighted to have you help them in whatever way you can.

Are there other opportunities for ministry?
Yes! Besides assisting the children on campus and helping in the local church, there will also be opportunities to visit the sick and to assist the needy in surrounding communities.

I understand the Center will not provide assisted living or nursing care. What happens if I need care?
The area has several good healthcare facilities and we will be happy to assist with placement in a healthcare facility if the need arises. Of course, you would be financially responsible to the healthcare facility.

Are pets allowed?
It is the aim of the Center that all residents have a comfortable living environment. Since some people suffer from pet allergies, no pets will be permitted.
